FOODTRIP PART 2

Finally got the pics from Sokkie and Rachie, and so here are the rest of them;

#1 TRAMPOLINE @ AcLand Street

The power gelato I was telling you guys about!! The real stuff cannot bluff!! I think everyone had a triple scoop for just Aud$4...

#2 My VioletCrumble+SpottyDoggy+CooKiesCream GelatO

#3 NOODLE BOX @ AcLand Street

Next stop was this solitary chinese take-away noodle shop with all sorts of wierd names for their noodles. The reason why we are here was because I spotted a couple eating it @ St.Kilda's Beach and it look really delicious!!! And so I went to ask them "Xcuse me, But where did you buy that?!?!" And so they directed me to a place called 'klang st'..which I later found out they actually meant 'Acland St'. I forgot the names of the noodles but I know everyone of us bought a different type to try!! Aud$9 if I am not wrong..

#4 My All-in-one Combo Box

This is the outcome of "Can't decide what to buy". Everything also take.  Got prawns, pork, beef, chicken, onions, veges. I tell you, yellow noodles seem to be a rare commodity in Melbourne...

#5 Wacking my noodles finally

#6 WowWowWeeeeeeeeee..........mmmmMM

#7 Some Breakfast wrap shop @ Victoria Shopping Center

This was our 1st meal in Melbourne since we touched down. At 6am and hungry like wolves, this is the only store that looked good. And so we sat down and order their wraps. It was @ a reasonable price at Aud$4.50 with an additional 50ctc promo for drinks! Wrap wasn't too bad for a morning sickness bout. The pita bread was really tangy and chewy..bread lovers would want a piece of this.

#8 The Doughnut Van @ Victoria Market

Looks really cool eh? But too bad I didn't buy anything from there cause I'm staying away from donuts and churritos.

#9 Snacks @ Victoria Market

From Left to Right: Sokkie with a Borek, Gary with his pizza, Paul with his pizza, Me with a Borek.

What's a #($ing Borek u might ask..well its a turkish bread with fillings of lamb or vegetarian dressing. was highly recommended to me by Joel so I reminded myself to grab a piece here. Aud$2.50 and it was quite unique. One more thing, anything with lamb on their menu in Melbourne, EATTTT IT!!!

#10 Slumber after a long day of eating.

Zzzzzzzzz.......

#11 My group @ RMIT Building

Last day of class in Melbourne before we flew to GoldCoast.

#12 Class Presentation @ RMIT Melbourne

This presentation was really old school. Everything there seem to be backward compared to Singapore's technologies. As we didn't bring any laptop and we didn't feel like doing any concrete work there, we decided to do primary school method of doing a presentation. Noticed the Hugeee vanguard sheets and nicely written words?? Haha the topic's about "If you dunno where you're heading, You will probably end up somewhere else."

#13 Group Photo with our lecturer

And here is our lecturer for our stay @ Melbourne, Ms Stephanie Fletcher. She seems to be a rookie who just joined the workforce, but is very friendly and helpful. Nice lady. I think someone likes her but I ain't mentioning who. HAhahahaa

#14 Group photo of MSE Team

I joined Lucas's group for the Management Simulation Exercise (MSE) which depicted a scenario of a competitive airline industry. We were an Airline company dealing with real time strategies to outplay a rival group, and I was playing the 'deputy CEO' role, assisting Mr CEO Lucas. haaha had great fun working hard and fooling around twice as hard.

Sunday, January 22, 2006

Well here I am, finally having some time to blog again. Wanted to start blogging afresh since the New year but had alot of mind-boggling stuff to settle. Among them are my projects carried over from Melbourne's study trip, which were due on Jan 16 and 20th respectively. Therefore I was pretty much into work for this month. Finally got everything thrown in the bin by Thurs as I do not want to go to school on Fri (no-class day) just to hand in.

Once I left school, I felt that I can finally enjoy a proper weekend from Thurs to Sun, without anything on my mind. Really, It seem to be one of the most peaceful weekends I ever had for a long time. With this break in hand, it would be a good rest in preparation for my final semester.

Went to meet Mrs Pudgie to get a new hair colour @ kimage hairdressing school by letting students use me as a guinea pig, for the price of just $16. Luckily there hasn't been any Chernobyl renactment so far as dyeing of hair is rather idiot-proof. Furthermore, the teachers there personally help out when the students put in a lackadisical effort. Therefore cardiac arrest seems to be of a low occurence.

Will also be having a big change in group dynamics as I would be experiencing working with 3 new teams this year. Half excited and half skeptical, I guess that the biggest challenge would be increasing my threshold of tolerance and the ability to work with different personalities. Am looking forward in moving onto a new learning curve and achieving previous results in a new environment.

4 more months and counting to be a professional rat...

THE PUDGIES' FOODTRIP TO AUSSIE

Finally have some time to spare to upload some of the foodie pics the Pudgies took in Melbourne and Goldcoast! We virtually ate everything that's lying in our path  Regret that I don't have all the pics of the marvellous food we ate, coz I don't have a personal camera and the rest of the pics are with my classmates. Will upload as soon as I get them.

meanwhile, enjoy the following pics starting with....

1. Mrs Pudgie's Homemade breakfast

Her first dish after she joined me in Melbourne! Foccacia toast, chili beans, triplefold ham and scrambled eggs with melted cheese x 2

2. KoKoBlack Cafe

Trust me on this, after downing the hot chocolate here, you won't want to drink any other hot chocos. It simply make the rest of the competition taste like horsepiss. According to Joel, rich belgian dark chocolate is infused into the milk as its being brewed, giving it a decadent taste. Simply amazing. Pudgies nearly nosebled here. Below are its famous hot choco and belgian chocolate spoiler set. Check out the cool design on the hot choco's surface!!

3. German Hotdog @ Queen Victoria Market

German veal and pork sausage with cheese and garlic on top. No complains only that its a Huuuggeee mutherfu*ker...heh

4. TRAMPOLINE Gelato

Mrs Pudgie is kind enough to be the model for this shot holding a triple scoop of their famous violet crumble, spotty dog and lychee which she is so crazy over. (personally, I hate fruits) In our opinion after trying so many gelatos in Melbourne, this is the best gelato we had. Die x2 must try!!! Having over 30 homemade flavours at the cheapest cost compared to others, this totally is in a league of their own!! No gelato comes near it, except for Lix's gelato @ melbourne central (I rank that 2nd becoz of its richness). It could possibly be Aussie's best gelato as it definitely beat Sydney's acclaimed best seller, GELATISSIMO anytime. The latter is just so diluted compared to Trammy..Pudgies are still craving for it till now..sighz...

Moving on to...SUZUKI NIGHT MARKET!!!! Who cares about the shopping man (xcept for mrs pudgie)?? I went straight for the jagular...THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD SECTION!!! Each store have woks big enough to feed the entire terracotta army. Purely gaga over them..starting with..

5. Pasta Cafe

Check out their woks..amazing..They have 3 types only, Marinana spaghetti, Penne Napoletana and Beef tortellini with cream cheese.

First pitstop!! Beef-filled tortellini with cream cheese!!! Aiyeeeeee....!!!

6. Greek seafood rice

Mrs pudgie drool over this which I dunno why...*shrugs* she ate it nonetheless

7. Chinese Store called Hot Woks and 2 smoking Barrels

No offense but I ain't gonna eat chinese food in Australia man. But I still think the wok is amazing though..ahhaha..this is stirred fried beef noodles. Looks good eh?

Below are beef rendang on the left, some noodles on the right.

8. German sausage store

A variety of meat ending with 'wurst' here hahaa, there's Veal, Pork, Beef, Veal+Beef, Pork+Beef and Veal+Pork! All amazingly hugeeeee and looking scrumptous!!

9. Ethopian Foodfare

Looks like nasi padang mixed with north indian cusine..smells really good though

10. Sweet corn-on-the-cob

Ate this as well. Get this, it cost Aud$3.30 for a single cob!! I think corn's a rare commodity in aussie?! But it is still cheaper than Taiwan which cost me Sg$6 for a cob..madness! The cob is succulent though, tops with garlic, butter and pepper. Every mouthful oozes with spuirting juice. Still don't think its worth it. Those assholes.

And guess what we found....

11. Grilled Kangaroo, Emu and Crocodile

Of coz i'm GAME!!!!! This is definitely a must-try for me!! Swoon.. Another pitstop here with long queues awaiting!! Below is the process of cooking my order..Take note that 'ostrich meat' is actually kangaroo meat. I type wrongly..ahha

Below is the Combi plate with salad. Mrs Pudgie thought it was evil to eat them and she felt kangaroo meat taste so wrong. In my opinion, its the contrary. I think I'm in love with kangaroos for the wrong reasons now ahaha *Evil Grin* Crocodile meat taste like beef..great for my tastebuds as well! Emu taste like chicken sausages..

Moving on to Acland Street @ St.Kildas, there are only few pics of the food we had here. A great street for hangout, dessert and beer!! The beer and box noodles pics are currently unavailable.. Below is a bakery with all those glorious gourmet bread!! All bread lovers let me hear you scream 'foccacia, ciabatta, scrolls, wholewheat, white rye, 5-grain..cinnamon rolls..yadder yadder..'

12. Chocolate bakeries

Acland's filled with these little havens of homemade chocolate cakes which would definitely set calorie-counters and weight-watchers into immediate cardiac arrest. Aud$4.50 a piece.

OMG OMG...Singapore sucks Singapore sucks...

The fudge seems free. Damn THEM!!!!

Mrs Pudgie think they are cute..

DInner TIME!!!!! Brought Mrs pudgie to...

13. Greasy Joe's Bar and Grill

A restaurant-cafe with reasonable pricing for great food!! Ate here previously with Lucas, Daphnee, Sumi, Rafe, Jenn and Jaime. Swore to bring the other pudgie here and so it shall be done!

Below: Mrs Pudgie's Big breakfast @ Aud$13.80 (contains 3 huge toast, 3 sundried juicy giant tomatoes, endless strips of bacon, sausages, ham and huge serving of scrambled eggs on the top)

Hey who the hell eats breakfast at dinner time!??!! Only dumb mrs pudgie would do something like that..she always got a soft spot for breakfast meals and she is so happy that Melbourne has a culture of breakfast wholeday anyday..But I tell u...the breakfast kick Macdonald's arse so bad, thats it's worth every cent.

Below: my 300gm Porterhouse Steak with Sauteed Potatoes in Red wine sauce

The best steak i ate in Melbourne. The other sidewalk cafes are jokes. Very filling due to Australian's serving size but worth every morsel. Finished every last bit of it. The potatoes were simply amazing, soft, succulent and filled with the aroma of red wine. AIYEEE....

14. Royal Copenhagen Ice Cream in Gold Coast

The best ice-cream I ate in Australia and Singapore. After eating this, Singapore's deserts will never taste the same again TRUST ME. The ice cream is so rich and thick and filled with nuts and chocolate bits and tasty and sweet and....*faintz*

Below: Double scoop of Midnight Chocolate cookie and Mocha almond fudge. Anyway just for your info, we ordered the small size. You won't wana see the regular one.

15. Mario Bello Pasta and Pizza Restaurant

At the sidewalks of Surfers', it claims to be the best in pizza and pasta, therefore we gave it a shot. Pretty decent. Notice their small is Singapore's LARGE!!!

Below: Mrs Pudgie's Ravioli Bolognese (small)

Below: My Spinach Pesto Fettucine w Sparkling red wine

16. Some desert cafe

The cakes there must be injected with some growth hormone. It's at least 3 times the size of Singapore dessert cheesecakes..no 4 times..no 5 times...I still think Aussies are mad. Mrs pudgie thinks they have no sense of proportion. Aud $7 a slice

And lastly....

17. Seafood by the Beach

Below: Seafood platter for 2 my Blardy Arse!!! Its for 6!!! hahaha But we still finish it coz we are the Pudgies! It's called Captain's Basket for Aud$25.20. I so need to puke..

That's all folkS!!!! More pics in future hopefully...Stay tuned!

Monday, December 26, 2005

Guess what, I'm back here again after a long hiatus. So many happenings in months, so much to say. So much awry emotions to write today.

But the time has come after a week of feasting and enjoyment to reflect back on 2005, to know what has one done right and wrong, what have one achieved. I guess there is no point muttering of the past, but rather, to change positively, improve and to accomplish the most ardous task in my opinion;

To move on.

Soon to be a new beginning in a new calendar, I do not know what lies ahead but I am still gonna face it nontheless with a new set of goals, God's help and blessing, and of course, Mrs Pudgie , my strategic advisor.

2005 ends in 6 days. Let the bad, uglified and irritance be just memories, while the good stays enduring. I shall not say more .

A Blessed Christmas to all of you and good tidings for the upcoming new year.

From Philip Shin:

"Is there a purpose? Why are we here?"
A little boy asked as the yuletide drew near.
"I really do hope that someday I will know
the reason we stand out here in the snow,
ringing this bell as people walk by,
while thousands of snowflakes
descend from the sky."

The mother just smiled at her shivering son
who would rather be playing and having some fun
but soon would discover before evening was done
the meaning of Christmas
the very first one.

The young boy exclaimed, "Mother where does it go?"
"All the pennies we collect - every year in the snow."
"Why do we do it? Why do we care?"
"We worked for these pennies,
so why should we share?"

"Because once a baby - so meek and so mild
was born in a manger - so humble the child
the son of a King - was born in this way
to give us the message
He carried that day.

"The present God gave the world on that night,
was the gift of his son to make everything right.
Why did he do it? Why did he care?
To teach about loving
and how we should share."

"The meaning of Christmas, you see my dear son,
is not about presents or just having fun
but the gift of a father - his own precious Son
so the world would be saved
when his work was all done"

Now the little boy smiled - with a tear in his eye
as snowflakes kept falling from out of the sky -
rang louder the bell as the people walked by
while down deep in his heart
at last he knew why.

ATTACK OF THE INTERNET SCOUNDRELS

I am now typing away in the school com lab as Derek is beside me ranting about his LMS project with SiLing and Daphne.

Finally I'm back blogging after a long stint and unfortunately, its not from the comfort of my own home due to the blardy bastards messing around in my computer after that fateful day. I am now disabled and exiled from the Internet community, silenced and ignored by password-encrypted sites, until I find a donor for Win2000 and Norton Anti-virus 2005 to reincarnate my worthless com.

According to my LMS textbook, stress is derived, not from the object/occurance/situation itself, but from the way one responds to it. How damn true. To many normal beings, an attack of virus or spyware is nothing and can be solved with either antivirus programmes or just plainly reformatting the motherfucker. But for me, a sudden attack of the bloodhound WP32 virus, trojan, spyware and browser hijacker proves too much for me as my heartrate increased tramatically until I start biting my nails agressively. How IT-unsavvy that is...Sheesh. While surfing around on that fateful day, my browsers self-closed and my wallpaper was changed to a huge black warning poster of my com being infected by a million spyware agents. Wierd EXE files start clouding my taskmanager and programmes are disabled one by one. It was a nightmare as I felt my Internet life slowly dissolving away.....Stress sets in and I felt withdrawal symptoms immediately.

Oh look, my fooble box is gone too. Those bastards. HELP. *Glup*

But since stress is self-inflicted, it could also diffuses at the rate you want it to as well. Well maybe its a good thing that my com got raped because I feel that I am able to concentrate my free time on other constructive stuff instead of staring at my dumbass monitor all the time. As the event would remain the same no matter how you react to it, the best way is defintely not to react at all, and find feasible solutions to solve it instead of breaking out into hissy fits, which I seem to do best nowadays *breathes*. Only setback is I can't do my projects as efficient as I want to due to incredible decreased speed of my damn com.

Well as I type away on this com, I coincidentally found the 'solutions' at the same time. Did I mention that Derek was sitting beside me? Yeah and he's got a pirated copy of Win2000. What a timely donor Hahah, and forgetting to thank Charles who offer to be the other donor, sparing his Norton CD. Thus my reincarnation would be complete...Muahahah *rub hands*

As Fuzk and MR Q recommend, I need to reinstall Adaware, Spybot and spywareblaster to form the forcefield against those evil-doers., maggots.

Alright enough of silly ranting of Internet invaders and my poor helpless com. I will blog again when my com is back to its healthy self again.

Tata..
